Environmental Policy
Every year over 500,000,000 empty toner and inkjet cartridges go to
landfill. I.T.P.'s aim is to help reduce this figure and be part of the
solution, not part of the problem.
Helping to save the environment is not only all our futures, but also
I.T.P.'s business. I.T.P.'s commitment to this challenge is total.
As part of this environmental commitment I.T.P. will at all times
aim to:
- Comply and exceed all legislative requirements
- Maximise the prevention of pollution
- Continually improve and monitor all environmental procedures &
considerations
The majority of all empty toner and inkjet collected by I.T.P. are sold
back into the market to companies that will remanufacture the product,
and sell it to the dealer or end consumer. The points below help to explain
what I.T.P. do with those items that can not go through this channel i.e.
packaging and damaged products.
- All cardboard packaging is sent to local paper mills for recycling.
- Cardboard “end-caps” are sold on to remanufacturers who
utilise them again in their finished product. Any “end-caps”
not re-used in this way are sent to local paper mills for recycling.
- Some reject or nil value empties are returned to the OEM for recycling
in accordance with their policies and legislative obligations.
- Damaged valued empties are sold or given to remanufacturers to be
used for spare parts.
- Damaged nil value empties where applicable are broken down to their
main components i.e. plastic, Aluminium, Steel and sent for raw material
recycling
- Damaged or odd sized pallets are sent for recycling.
